The Disney Value Resorts may seem like the “antithesis of sophistication,” especially compared to the luxurious Disney Deluxe resorts such as the Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, the Polynesian Resort, and Bay Lake Tower. And although the Disney Moderate Resorts like Coronando Springs and Port Orleans are a step above the Value Resorts, there are still MANY great reasons to love Disney Value Resorts.
There are now 5 Disney Value Resorts that you can choose from:
All Star Sports
All Star Movies
All Star Music
and the new Art of Animation opening this year.
Here are three great reasons to LOVE the Disney Value Resorts.
1) Well first……VALUE!
If you are on a budget, the Value Resorts are just right for you and your family, big groups or simply a couple. With the lowest accomodation prices on Disney property, you will be sure to have your hard earned dollars go a long way. My family was on an extremely tight budget last year, and with no substantial promotion in sight at the time, the price for a Value Resort room was just right. The rooms may be small, with each room having 2 double beds or one queen size bed, however it’s perfect for a small family. If you want just a place to sleep after a busy day in the parks. You can read my full review of the All Star Sports Resort on Tips from the Disney Diva.
Are you a LARGE family on a budget? Does your family of 6 or more still want to stay on Disney Property without breaking the bank? Disney’s All Star Music and Disney’s new Art of Animation offer FAMILY SUITES as well! Each family suite sleeps up to 6, and you can add a child under 3 with a crib available upon request. These suites have a kitchenette with a microwave and a refrigerator. You get 2 bathrooms, a room with a Queen-sized bed and TV’s. You may pay more for a King Size bed. In All Star Music‘s family suite, the living room has a sleeper sofa, a twin chair that converts into a sleeper and an ottoman that converts as well. In the Art of Animation Suites has a Queen-size bed in the bedroom and the living room has a Double-size Inova Table Bed and a Double-size sleeper sofa
There is another “value” alternative for large families: if you are on the Disney Dining Plan and may not need to use a Kitchenette, book two standard rooms together or within close proximity of each other at the same resort. By doing this, it would actually fit a family or group of 8 people.
ALL Disney resorts now include Wi-Fi in the rooms and around the resort’s public areas. No more extra cost for Wi-Fi means more ways to save money on your vacation.
2) On Disney Property, you experience Disney 24 hours a day!
What could be better than Disney 24/7? You get the same GREAT service you see all over Walt Disney World. The Cast Members are terrific. The rooms are all DISNEY CLEAN! Since you are staying on Disney Property, you get perks like the Extra Magic Hours. You will receive complementary Airport Transportation Service through Disney’s Magical Express with your checked in luggage being sent to your room. Your family will also be able to take the complementary resort transportation to all the Walt Disney World theme parks and the amazing water parks .
Complementary transportation is also available from the Value resorts to the other Disney resorts, though this may take some time. To get from your Disney resort to another Disney resort, you will have to ride to one of the theme parks, water parks, or Downtown Disney, and catch another bus to the resort of your choice. This will be helpful if you have dining reservations at a Resort Restaurant or simply would like to resort hop. You’ll have to switch busses on your ride home as well, because at this time there is no direct bus service from one resort to another.
Disney also offers it’s guest charging privileges on your room key as well as complementary resort purchase delivery. So you can shop til you drop all around Disney World, and then have it sent directly to your room instead of carrying your purchases around with you.
3) Believe it or not, Photography!
Take a look at these incredible photos taken from the Mouze Kateerz staff of the Disney Value Resort’s FUN photo-ops you and your loved ones will have.
Picture this… you wouldn’t be in the MOUZE HOUZE without talking about photographing Disney!
With so many OVER the TOP Icons, larger than life Disney Characters and FUN graphics all around, there will be plenty of awe inspiring smiles for young and old.
The downside to staying at a Disney Value Resort.
A major complaint many people have with the Value Resorts is the noise, especially if you are staying near the central area by the pools. Lots of people stay here, and the occupancy level is always high. Another big complaint are the crowded buses, especially when returning at night from the Theme parks. You may wait in line through 2 buses while you wait for your turn.
The resorts are large, but the Cast Members are ready to help you navigate around the Resort. There are also no table service restaurants at the Value Resorts. Each resort does have a cafeteria style eatery with many options. These quick service places can get very crowded during peak dining hours. All Value Resorts have wonderful large pools yet no entertaining waterslides that you will see at the other Disney Resort Moderate and Deluxe pools.
All in all, Value Resorts are great for your wallet while staying on Disney property. If you are planning a trip to Disney on a tight budget, consider staying at one of these fun, happy themed resorts. If you have children, they will love it! Hey, they are in Disney and a bed is a bed to rest and sleep in!

Let’s wrap things up with the Value Resorts; they offer great value, Disney 24/7 for less money, and amazing theming and photographic opportunities you may not have at off-property resorts. Kids and adults love the bright colors of the Disney characters. While the trade off is less sophistication and more noise than the Moderate and Deluxe resorts, you pay a significant amount less for your accommodations.
